FAQ

It may be due to eye fatigue or eye strain. It may cause discomfort and tiredness to the eyes when you are doing long hours of computer work, reading, writing or driving.

As Myopia is usually inherited, it may not be preventable. However, we can slow down the progression of myopia with special myopia control glasses or contact lenses. Early detection might be able to delay or avoid the onset and early intervention will have better accumulative efficacy and prognosis of complications.

Progressive spectacle is a popular alternative of bifocal spectacle as there are no distinct lines seen on the lenses. These lenses work by gradually changing the prescription so as to allow wearers to see from distance to intermediate and then to near vision clearly.

An occupational spectacle has similar function as a progressive spectacle, providing mainly clear intermediate and near vision for the wearer. These lenses are ideal for prolong usage of desktop/computer work as the viewing area for intermediate vision is much wider.

Switch to multifocal contact lenses. These lenses provide you with good, functional vision for distance and near vision without having to wear spectacles.

  • Use spectacle cloth to wipe/clean your lenses (Never use your t-shirt/blouse/bath towel to clean as this may cause scratches on the lenses)
  • Store your spectacles properly in a spectacle case when not in use to prevent damaging the glasses
  • Never place your spectacles with the lenses faced down on hard surfaces as this may scratch the lenses
